Family Music Classes & Play Sessions
Let’s Sing & Play with our babies, toddlers and preschoolers (schooler ~agers too)!
Every day is a great day to sing & play and it’s extra fun with you!
WHEN?
Join us as time permits! See our Schedule
Our schedule offers a jump on in anytime year round. We do not require our families to sign up for specific days, times or sessions unless noted. Our daily schedule is designed with many factors in mind benefitting each family that joins us! A typical daily visit is 90 minutes- 2.5 hours.
HOW?
- Choose a payment plan. We offer a flexible approach to fit your monthly budgets. Our goal is to provide families with affordable preschool alternative w/ options including the whole family, rates are per family, not per child. In addition, children’s sleep patterns and parent’s works schedules may vary therefore, we strive to provide daily options that allow you to participate any day/ any time. If your family is considering homeschooling, come check us out!
- Choose your day/time or arrival! Our daily routines and rituals play a huge part in your developing children providing them comfort of what to expect (after a few visits) and creating a RHYTHM to our daily FUN! Finding a balance in attendance as each child and family has different needs and goals. We believe you know your child best, however we will guide you as well to follow our guidelines which allow us to keep our planning and protocols such as health and safety in check!
- Most families join us weekly, some families join us two times a week or even daily! We recommend at least once a week.
Since teaching our dynamic music and movement classes for over 22 years many families have shared how affective our classes are by facilitating a deeper connection with their children especially children and parents that are on the “spectrum”. Yes, mentioning parents on the spectrum too, you read that correctly! We may not always know the journey each family celebrates, some share privately or publicly.
The backstory to The K Peas Family includes grief and much sorrow…. we mindfully use the word CELEBRATE to guide our own mindset through our personal challenges. Learn more: Karen Letter April 2023
Perhaps, our time together is helping you through your own challenges?
We hope you leave each day feeling joyful and inspired like we do!
WHY?
- “It’s more than singing and playing with our families!” Families express that our play sessions also offer inspiration for organizing activities with their children at home, bringing them a sense of peace and deeper connection with their children. This is very rewarding for us to hear! It’s an honor as your teacher to understand what you may be going through and how our time together is beneficial for your family, too!
- Family Focused Fun. Our all inclusive approach becomes recognizable by everyone! Our family classes can be thought of as “Blending Generations” because all ages truly benefit. Families bring their grandparent guests to enjoy our activities too. We often are asked if grandparents may attend! Of course. We do not limit your family participation, yet mindfully request you let us know when they plan to join you or if they will bringing your children, so we can plan accordingly! For starters, perhaps you are a working parent and grandparents will be joining us regularly. In addition, maybe they need a chair rather than sitting on the floor in the circle! Or perhaps, sitting up front is ideal for some children and families! While we do not require families to stay in one spot or sit still for the duration of class time. It’s recommended to dress comfortably and be ready to participate the best of your abilities! WE MOVE a lot!
- Grown ups = extra magic! Children love to see adults having fun too! It’s exciting to watch all the emotional expressions released through dancing together! So much is happening that we forget we are LEARNING to count, sort, use our voices, speak, shout, whisper, sing, hum, whistle, snap, clap, tap, beat, march, skip, gallop, roll, and even relax!
- Class time is dedicated time to practice social skills in a group setting, guided by loving grown ups. Our teaching experiences past and current extend into traditional preschool classrooms, in home daycare & preschool environments, preschools family fun nights/ kid events/family concerts, library shows, adult teacher workshops all in which shape our teaching techniques. Each opportunity provides lots of practice! As we know no two days are the same! Life is a practice, nothing is ever perfect! We welcome you to our community of learning as we connect through playful experiences and celebrate the little achievements.
What to expect:
- We ask caregivers to mindfully engage with their children whether you plan to attend open play ( enjoy a snack at the tables in the eating area) Please no eating in the playroom or classroom. Be mindful, sit with your children and be ready to guide in transitions, please keep a watchful eye on time preparing for class time or departure. Open Play is thoughtfully added to our schedule to allow a snack before or after class time. We understand caregivers are technically “managers” of agendas and open play allows for a sense of respite!
At K Peas Place when families walk into our doors they express
a sense of release, and smile.
